This first picture is completely random and has nothing to do with Christmas, but I had to post it because it was so cute. I checked on Aubree during her nap the other day and she looked so precious I just had to snap a picture. She's sleeping on a unicorn pillow pet, a bumblebee pillow pet and a Hannah Montana pillow. All these Christmas pictures are in backwards order, but that's ok:) We went to Grandpa Scott and Grandma Sherry's for lunch and opening presents. Here's Syd opening a present (her favorite thing)

Our Family Gift....A Wii. We decided to get a Wii for our whole family this year, so each of the girls got just a few presents to open from us.

One of our family traditions is to open up new jammies on Christmas Eve. This year Syd got panda jammies, Aubs got Hello Kitty ones and KyKy got Lalaloopsy.

The Sunday before Christmas we went to see the lights at Temple Square as a family.The lights and the Temple were beautiful, but it was VERY crowded. Next year we'll have to go a little earlier in the season.

The Twins are in a pilot program through Alpine School District designed to help with their speech. It's called Talking Time, and it's basically a one hour a week preschool where for the first 30 minutes they focus on one sound and do games and activities as a group focusing on that sound. For the second part of the hour, the kids work on a craft while each one is called over individually for one-on-one speech therapy. They absolutely love it. This past week Mrs. Santa Claus came to visit their class and gave them each a gift.

Syd had a busy week this past week too. She played "O Come All Ye Faithful" at her piano recital. She was a little nervous, but she did a superb job. We were so proud of her. After she played at the recital, we left and went straight to her school where the whole 1st grade put on a program with songs from "How the Grinch Stole Christmas". I took this picture of her right before we left for the recital. I can't believe how grown up she looks.

It's been entirely too long since I last posted. So much has happened the last two months. All the girls had birthdays, Halloween, family activities and lots more. Here is a glimpse of what we have been up to. Syd turned 6 on August 18. She had a circus birthday party. She and her friends all had a great time. They played pin the nose on the clown, we also had a prize raffle. We finished off by opening presents and having cupcakes and ice cream. Does she look excited for her party or what?

On September 25th the twins turned 3! I can't believe Sloan and I have survived 3 years with these 2! We celebrated by having cake (Lion King) and ice cream at Grandma Sherry and Grandpa Scott's house.

Both girls decided to put on ALL the clothes they were given for their birthday at the SAME time. They each have 4 outfits on. Silly girls!

At the beginning of October we went to Hee Haw Farms as a family. We had a blast! The girls rode ponies, the animal train, and went down this big slide on burlap bags. They also got to pet the animals. Kilee got ran over by a goat trying to attack another goat! We also went on a trick-or-treat hayride. It was a fun night.

On Syd's fall break from school we went up to This Is The Place Heritage Place for "little haunts". It was fun to see all the houses. We rode the train, went to story time with the witch and the girls got to ride ponies again. It was a pretty fun Halloween celebration.

This year for Halloween, the twins really got in to trick-or-treating. Somehow the picture of Sydnee disappeared from my camera, but she was a witch. Aubs was a turtle and KyKy was a butterfly.

Trip to Logan

This past week we went to visit Jen and her family in Logan for a couple of days. The girls had a blast playing with their cousins. On Wednesday we decided to take the kids to Willow Park Zoo, which is a little zoo in Logan that has lots of small animals. We saw ducks, birds, monkeys, porcupines, bobcats, snakes and even an emu. I think the twins loved the emu because they can actually say emu.

Well, we have had quite an eventful month! On June 16th, Sydnee broke her arm. We took her to American Fork hospital, but because it was such a bad break, she had to be taken by ambulance to Primary Children's for surgery to put pins in. This is her the morning after the surgery. Poor kid! Here she is with the splint still on, looking a little happier.

I can't believe how fast time flies. The twins are growing like crazy. They are 2 1/2 now. Their language improvement in the last couple of months is amazing. A few weeks ago I made an attempt to cut Kilee's bangs to try and make it easier to tell them apart, but I cut them too short and now she looks a little silly! Sydnee is such a sweet kid (most of the time) She was student of the month in her class for February. We are so proud of her.

Syd is extremely creative and artsy and always likes to make little projects using things she finds around the house. She made this using 2 floss picks, a straw, nail polish, and a scrap of tulle.

For this cute little face, she used a paper plate, yarn, markers, a straw and cupcake papers. love that kid!

I can't believe how long it has been since I blogged! My goal is to do it at LEAST twice a month. The holiday season was crazy and fun and time just got away from us! For my birthday in December, Sloan got me a Kodak Playsport mini video camera so I can take video of the girls wherever I go. Here's some pictures from the last few weeks. Our 3 sweet girls are growing up so fast! Syd is loving Kindergarten. She is learning to read a little bit and has made a lot of new friends. The twins are ...well... two. They are talking more and more all the time. Syd is practicing hard at Ballet for her upcoming performance in "The Grinch"

We had a great halloween as a family. We went to the Trunk-or-Treat at our church, where all three girls loaded up on candy, then we went to visit Grandma & Grandpa and afterwards went to our favorite burger place, JCW's.

Last week Sloan and I were able to get away kid-free (thanks to my mom & sister) for a quick two day trip to Bear Lake to celebrate our 7 yr anniversary. We stopped to eat at our favorite pizza restaurant on the way up. It was relaxing and nice to get away from the daily grind for a couple of days. Syd started kindergaten on September 1. She looked so grown up her first day. I can hardly believe she's already five. I had the bus schedule wrong, so of course she missed the bus the first day so we took her. When I dropped her off at her teachers door, I asked her if she wanted me to wait until the bell rang and she said "No, mom you can go." Of course I started bawling! So far she is loving school and doing really well.

Aubs & Ky turned 2 September 25. We celebrated by having family over for cake, ice cream, and of course presents. The didn't quite get the concept of blowing out candles, but had no problem figuring out how to open presents.

Our little Syd is already 5 years old! It's hard to believe she is starting kindergarten soon. In some ways the past five years have flown by, and in other ways it has taken forever. She had her very first friend party this year. It was a Prince/Princess party. It turned out really well. Everyone had a great time.

Last Friday I took the girls to the Splash Pad in Highland. They loved it! Fountains spray up out of the ground and there's also a shallow river area where water shoots up out of the rocks. Kilee absolutely loves the water. It takes Aubree a little longer to warm up to it. Sydnee had a blast too. My three cuties eating lunch

This past week my brother and his family invited us over to play on their inflatable water slide/pool. The girls had an absolute blast! Kilee loved getting wet and going down the slide. We had a fun Easter this year as a family. We have a little pond with ducks right by our complex, so on Friday while the twins were napping, Sydnee and I decided to take some bread out and feed them. The two white ducks are very domesticated and will come right out of the water and eat out of your hand.

Yes, as the title suggests, there are no pictures in this post. I always post pictures of my 3 sweet girls, but rarely talk about their cute personalities and since I consider my blog a journal of sorts, and hope to make it a book someday, (We'll see if that actually happens, I want to make a quilt out of their baby clothes too, except I don't quilt) I want to have a little bit in here about their personalities.

Syd is such a smart cookie. She does so good in preschool and dance. She is such a girlie girl. She loves to play princess and Barbies. She also loves everything pink. Her favorite thing to do is dance to music videos. She especially loves Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood.

Aubz, our older twin is a handful. She loves to do whatever she is told not to do. She likes to bully her sister by stealing her bottle and toys. She is also very sweet and has an infectious laugh and smile.

KyKy is definitely the "baby" of the family. She is always a little bit behind Aubz. She loves our dog Jake and will usually give "luvs" (hugs).

Both the twins love to dance too.

Sydnee had her first dance production this past Saturday. It was the "The Little Match Girl". She was a cute little blue gumdrop. There is a scene where the match girl has a dream about all the goodies in the candy store and all the 3-5 year olds played the "goodies". There were gumdrops, lemondrops and lollipops. We were so proud of her. She did such a wonderful job and was such a trooper during all the long rehearsals. Good Job Syd!!!!!

I just wanted to share a picture of this adorable cake that I won from a giveaway. One of my awesome neighbors, Raven is super talented and makes these cakes. I entered the giveaway on her website, www.dollhousecakes.com and won! I won 3 mini cakes and for my first one I wanted a halloween one because I love halloween and I thought it would be a fun treat for halloween night. Our sweet babies are one! We celebrated this past Sunday. When we gave them their cakes, Kilee dug into hers, but Aubree wasn't sure quite what to do, which is opposite of their personalities, but after a few minutes they were back to their normal selves. Aubree was going hog wild and Kilee wasn't into it as much. They both ended up eating quite a bit of cake and frosting. They got a bunch of fun toys as well as some cute outfits. It was a blast. I love these cute little girls so much!

6 years!

This Saturday is our 6th anniversary. It's hard to believe we have been married that long, and at the same time it seems like forever. Sloan is truly an amazing person. He works so hard for our family and always strives to do what's right and I consider myself lucky to have married a man like him. Here are just a few things we've survived in the past six years:

*Both of us finishing college
*5 moves
*The arrival of our 3 daughters
*2 LONG pregnancies (even though it was me carrying the babies it was both of us that survived because I am NOT a pleasant pregnant person)
*Not being able to bring our twins home from the hospital when they were born & surviving 17 days of back and forth trips to the hospital
*Buying and selling 2 homes

This past week Sydnee went to day camp at her preschool. It was princess themed and all the girls came dressed as princesses. She absolutely loved it! They did lots of fun things. They made a crown, a princess hat with flowing ribbons, painted beautiful flowers, colored pictures of princesses, made jewelry, ate pink cookies and had a picnic with the cowboy camp. It's hard to believe she is growing up so fast. I can't believe she will be 4 next month!

4th/Swimming/Randomness

We have teeth! Aubree & Kilee both have 2 teeth now! Kilee got hers really close together. Aubers has had one for quite a while and her second one just popped through yesterday. They are growing so fast! As of their 9 month well baby check they are exactly the same height (almost 30 inches, 94th percentile!) and only 4 oz. apart in weight. I sure love these little girls!

The other day Sydnee & I were outside with Jake and she said "Mom!, look there's a rainbow!" It was so beautiful I just had to get a picture!

The girls all ready to go out swimming. It was the twins first time. Kilee loves the water, but Aubree screams if we even put her feet in. We'll have to work on that!

This year for the 4th we decided to just do fireworks at the house rather than drag the twins somewhere. Here's Sydnee with her sparkler. This is the first year she has been brave enough to actually hold one.

Sometimes the kids and I go and have lunch with Sloan at work. This past week we picked up a pizza and all went to the park near his work. After we ate, the kids played on the playground for a while. They all had fun and the twins especially loved the baby swings.

Sydnee has been taking swimming lessons for the last 2 weeks at the Veterans Memorial Pool in Pleasant Grove. She did an awesome job! She passed her class (the preschool level) and is ready to move on to level I next summer. She had a really fun time and has become a lot braver in the water.

The pool at our complex opened up last Friday and Syd has been soooo anxious to go swimming. She seems to be a lot braver this year than last. She actually asked to go in the big pool. We plan to go alot the next couple of weeks to "practice" before she starts swimming lessons.

This past Wednesday Sydnee graduated from her first year of preschool at Little Scholars Academy. We are so proud of her! She worked so hard to learn her part for graduation. I told her if she said her part in front of all the people at graduation, I would let her pick something out at the store. She ended up picking out a princess dress-up playset, which was good, because she is going to Princess day camp at her preschool later this summer and she has to dress like a princess. We are going to continue to work on her letters and sounds this summer so she is all ready for next year!

It's a bit early, but Sloan's 29th birthday is this coming Saturday (Yes, he is 4 1/2 years younger) I am in my thirties, he call's me an "oldie, but a goody". I would like to take this opportunity to list a few things I love about the old man.

*He's a kind and patient husband that puts up with a lot from me
*He's a great dad to our 3 girls
*Even though he's already awesome, he continues to strive to be better in the above 2 things
*He works really hard to support our family, even working 70 hours at times
*I love his hairy back, (sorry too much info, but it's true)
*He willingly changes poopy diapers, even when I'm home to do it
*He's been dealt a rough hand in life, but has risen above it and will do anything to make sure his girls have a good life.
*He can clean a bathroom and mop a floor WAY better than I can

Grocery Savings

One of my favorite things to do (partially out of necessity, and partially because I just enjoy it) is trying to save as much as possible on groceries. I know I have a few friends that read my blog that ask me how I do it, and of course everyone knows that my favorite site in pinchingyourpennies.com. However, for those of you that usually comment on my grocery savings posts, I wanted to let you know about 2 new awesome blogs I have discovered about grocery savings. The first one is www.grocerycartchallenge.blogspot.com The owner of this blog, Gayle, feeds her family of 5 on $60 a week on average and in California no less! She has some great tips on menu planning and also some great recipes.
The second one is www.5dollardinners.com This lady makes all of her family's dinners for $5 or less and some of them look awesome! Check 'em out!

Fun-Filled Easter Weekend 2009!!

We had quite the event filled Easter weekend. Midway through the week, my sister Jen came down to visit from Logan. On Thursday we took our kids to Chuck E. Cheese (Sydnee's new favorite thing to do). They had a blast eating pizza and playing games. Friday Sloan & I took the kids, yes, all the kids including the twins to the Hannah Montana movie. Sydnee loves Hannah Montana and we actually enjoyed the movie too, it was pretty good.
Saturday I took Sydnee to the Orem Rec Center easter egg hunt. This has been our tradition the past 3 years since we moved to Utah County. After that, we met up at IHOP with all of my extended family for Grandpa Scott's birthday breakfast, then finally we headed back to the grandparents house for ANOTHER egg hunt. WHEW! It was crazy, but a lot of fun.

I took the twins for their 6-month doctor visit last week and they are doing great! It's hard to believe that less than 6 months ago they were lying in an isolette in the NICU. They're getting so big and strong. Kilee (left) continues to be the smaller of the two. She is in the 18th percentile for weight and 27th percentile for height. Aubree is up to 33rd percentile for weight and 46th percentile for height. Such cuties!

One of my favorite ways to save money is getting free groceries by transferring a prescription. Smith's has a deal right now where you can get $25 loaded onto your Fresh Values card for transferring a prescription, no coupon needed. By doing this along with buying sale items, combined with some coupons, and buying some discounted meat, I got what is pictured here for $4.68. Smith's has a Quaker sale this week. If you buy 4 items you get $4 off, making them $1.49 each, combine that with coupons and it makes for some sweet deals.
Here's what I got:
2 boxes Cap'n Crunch
4 boxes Life cereal
1 Gallon milk
1 Gallon Tampico citrus punch
1/2 gallon Kroger orange juice
1 small box pumpkin choc. chip cookies
2.45 lbs bananas

The Life of a Mother

I find that being the mother of 3 kids under the age of 3 really difficult sometimes. I often wonder why for me personally, it seems so hard sometimes. There are many others that have a lot more children than I have and they cheerfully go about life, taking care of their kids, keeping a house, serving in the church, and they do it with a smile on their face. For example, a favorite website of mine that I visit frequently has all types of mothers, there's one that just had twins. They were her 7th and 8th, not 2nd and 3rd like me. Another fellow twin mom I know has 4 kids and has a husband that has to work a lot of hours and is hardly ever home. I have an incredibly helpful, supportive husband who willingly changes poopy diapers and can get the babies to go to sleep better than I can, yet I still feel like I want to pull my hair out half the time.
I have a book that I got from my Dad a couple of Christmases ago called "Blessed are the Children". It is full of pictures and quotes about children and occasionally I pull it out to read my favorite quotes to remind me that someday, if my kids don't turn out too screwed up, this will all be worth it. Here's a few of my favorites:

You would think that our main parenting challenge would be the fact that we have 5-month old twins, which is definitely a challenge, however, we have a 3 1/2 year that has really tried our patience lately.We love her to death, but she defintely pushes her limits and she is a very stubborn child. We recently took her to the dentist for the first time and she wouldn't even open her mouth! I do feel bad for her today though because she woke up with a nasty case of Pink Eye. Poor Kid! It breaks my heart to see her so miserable and it breaks my heart even more to have to hold her down to put the eye drops in, and this just 2 weeks after she had a skin infection on her thumb. Luv ya Syd!!

What can I say? It's been one of those days, one of those weeks, really. Most of the time I really love being a mom, but I've had a rough couple of days. I feel guilty complaining because they're my kids 'and I chose to have them, but today I just feel like escaping to a tropical paradise somewhere by myself, except, oh, yeah I don't have the money for that!
I recently discovered one of my old co-workers on Facebook, who has triplets, plus two others and here I am complaining. I'm sick of dirty diapers, I'm sick of washing bottles, I'm sick of a three year old that tried to feed fruit snacks to her baby sister this morning, oh, well, life goes on. Thanks for allowing me to vent!!!

We spent the morning at Instacare with Sydnee because she woke up with a thumb twice the size of normal and full of puss, YUCK! Turns out it was a superficial skin infection so the Doc had to drain it out. She was such a brave girl, didn't even cry when he was cutting her skin. I was so proud of her. This picture is later that night. Her thumb must have felt better because she built a "Temple" out of her blocks.

Bits n' Pieces & Random Thoughts

It seems like our lives are always crazy busy, yet it seems like there's nothing new at the same time. I was called to the enrichment committee in Relief Society. I haven't had a calling since we were released from primary when I first got pregnant with the twins. Sloan is now working a 4 day work week until the end of March so he will be home on Fridays, which will be nice but I'm sure we'll fill up the time with things that have to be done.
It seems like there's never a dull moment with the 3 girls. At least one or more of them needs something all day long. It's impossible to keep the house clean and those rare moments when it is clean, it's a disaster by nighttime anyway. How do mom's that have triplets or more do it? I feel like I can barely handle twins and a 3 year old.
This past Tuesday Sloan and I were able to go out to dinner for Valentines Day kid-free thanks to my parents for babysitting the kids. We went to the new Iggy's and we both loved it! Sometimes we think back to how easy times were when we were first married with no kids, and even though we sometimes have rough days, I still love 'em to pieces.

The twins had their 4 month check-up today and they are doing great! Our pediatrician, Dr. Wilcox was surprised that they are rolling over already. They were all smiles and happy at their appointment until they got their shots and then it took my mom and I about 15 minutes to calm them down enough just to put them in their seats. Here are their stats:

Aubree:
12 lbs. 4 oz.=18th %ile
24 3/4 in=68th %ile

Kilee:
11lbs. 10 oz.=10th %ile
24 in= 37 %ile

Season 8 begins!!!!

Well, season 8 of American Idol started on Tuesday, Yahoooooooooeeeee!!!! I love it. Favorites are starting to emerge among all the weirdos. My least favorite so far was "bikini girl". I mean, HELLO! are we trying to cause controversy or what?? I definitely liked the guy named Matt .....something or other.. he was a welder with a heart of gold. I also liked the younger brother of season 7 4th runner-up Jason Castro. His pink hair was a little weird but he definitely has talent. We'll see what this next week brings, what do you think? Will we have a lot of talented singers from our great Beehive State?

One of my hobbies is trying to see how many groceries I can get for the smallest amount of money. I do this with the help of one of my favorite websites http://www.pinchingyourpennies.com/ . It has allowed me to do two things:

2)Slowly build our food storage

Sloan and I try to be frugal and our goal is to keep our grocery bill low because we would rather spend our money on other things. I love couponing, and I try to plan my meals around what's on sale and combine those sales with coupons. At two recent sales at Albertson's, I got the following:

It's been a while since I posted. This year for New Years we went up to my sister Cami's cabin at Bear Lake for a couple of days. I went snowmobiling for the first time in my life and I actually drove one!! We also did a little bit of sledding. As we were all standing around at the top of the sledding hill, I glanced around to make sure Sydnee was by me and I saw her riding down the hill all by herself! She had sit down in the sled she was holding onto and it just took off! It was a pretty big hill too. It was pretty funny too considering she's scared of sledding anyway. Unfortunately, my camera battery died and I didn't have the charger so I only got these two pics.

We had a really nice Christmas this year. It was a lot of fun, mostly because Sydnee was old enough to really get excited about Santa coming. We really tried to teach her about the true meaning of Christmas, the Nativity and celebrating the birth of the Savior, but it's kind of hard with a 3 year old when she gets so excited about Santa and presents and such.

Christmas morning Aubree and Kilee decided to get us up at 5:45 am (I guess they thought they had to eat :)). We woke up Sydnee and went downstairs to open presents. Sydnee was so excited that she got the Barbie car she had asked Santa for. From mommy and daddy she got a leapster, fish game, and a few other things. After we finished opening presents we went to my parents house for breakfast and to open presents. We hope you all had a very nice holiday and were able to spend time with family and friends.

It's hard to believe that I turned 33 yesterday. I really love birthdays but it pains me to have my own birthday because it means I'm another year older. As much as I wanted to avoid talk of my birthday in any way, shape or form, it was actually pretty nice day. Sloan had given me my birthday present a week earlier. I had come home from work and was getting ready to cook dinner and he asked me to go up and get the twins' binkies from their crib. I agreed but was thinking "what a jerk!", HE should go get the binkies (We call them naynay's in our house, a term coined by Sydnee when she was a baby). When I went into the twins' room, there was a beautiful, tall black lamp with a sign written in crayon that said happy birthday. What a sweetie! My parents gave me a beautiful, puffy green parka, perfect for the snowy weather and Cami gave me some really cute black shoes. All in All it was a pretty great birthday!

I'm sitting here at work and I was just contemplating how different things are for our family right now than they were this time last year. I was not yet pregnant with the twins, but we were trying for our SECOND and last child, a boy of course because I already had a girl and now I wanted a boy. Everything was planned just right: We would have our second child, I would work up until the end of the pregnancy, go back after a few weeks and everything would be just dandy! Our car was just the right size for two kids, as was our house. When we found out I was pregnant in February of 2008, everything was right on track, or so I thought.
On March 19, 2008 I went to my first doctors appointment and they did an ultrasound. As the doctor looked at the screen, he said "Do you want the good news or the bad news?" I was like oh great there's something wrong with the baby! So I asked him what was wrong and he said there was two babies in there. It was worse than I thought. I said "No there's not" and he said "Yes, there is" So I asked him if that was supposed to be the good news or the bad news and he said "Both".
I think both Sloan and I remained in shock for a long time. In June when we went for the 20 week ultrasound I was sure one or both of them would be a boy, in fact I had already told my sister Jen to start getting her boy clothes ready to give me. Well, as you know it was two girls. We started out 2008 with one kid and now we have 3 but I couldn't imagine things any different now. We love our girls and now I'm not sure I would even know what to do with a boy!

We took the twins for their two month well baby check up today and they are growing really well! Aubree is now 8lbs. 15 oz. and 22 inches (an inch taller than her sister) and Kilee is up to a whopping 8lbs. 2oz.!! Pretty good considering she was 5lbs. 15oz. just a month ago!! It's hard to believe that they would barely eat 10 cc's of formula when they were first born. It always breaks my heart to see how hard they cry when they get their shots. Fortunately, I had my Sloan there for the first part of the appointment and my mom there for the last part. (Thanks mom!) I feel lucky that even though the twins are only two months old, they haven't gotten sick yet. Hopefully we can make it through the winter without any serious illnesses.
In other news, I am back at work! I have worked a couple of days so far and will officially start back this coming Monday. Sloan will continue to work at Cabelas on my nights off through the month of December and then quit at the end of the year.
I feel especially thankful this holiday season for all our blessings lately. I feel blessed that we are employed, that we have a home to live in, heat to heat our home, food to eat, and clothes to wear. I never thought I would be so thankful for such basic things, but with all the stories of economic hardship I hear on the news lately, I feel very blessed.

The story of the twins birth.......

The twins are 8 weeks old now. Now that things have calmed down a bit I thought I would share their birth story. Wednesday September 24 seemed like a normal day, I was uncomfortable, huge and still had 2 1/2 weeks until my scheduled c-section. My sister Jen was down from Logan visiting with her kids and Jen, Cami, and I had taken our kids to "Jump on it" that day and then we all ate dinner at my parents house. A little before 11 pm I was laying on the couch halfway between awake and asleep and Sloan had just gotten home from work about an hour earlier and was sitting on the floor in front of me watching TV. At 11:03 I felt a gentle "pop" that jolted me awake. I immediately jumped up and moved the four feet from the carpet to the tile floor and "water" came splashing out everywhere. I told Sloan my water broke and he started getting our stuff together to go to the hospital. After my parents came and picked up Sydnee and I was situated on a big stack of towels in the car we headed to the hospital. We arrived at about 11:45 pm. The labor & delivery nurse checked to make sure my water had really broken and then the next thing I knew there were several people in the room bustling all around doing things and the anesthetist came in to tell me about the spinal. Within minutes I was wheeled into the operating room. The anesthestist put in my spinal and from then on everything went so fast. At 12:38 am on September 25 Aubree Virginia came out first weighing 5lbs. 15oz. Two minutes later at 12:40, Kilee Rachel was born weighing 4lbs. 14oz. they were both 17 inches long.
We were both so happy that they were finally here! Over the next 30 hours they really struggled with eating. Because of their prematurity, they didn't have the natural born desire to suck and the effort it took them to eat caused them to burn too many calories, so on Friday night our awesome pediatrician, Dr. Wilcox opted to put them in the level II nursery (NICU) so they could receive their feedings through a tube in their nose. We were allowed to do one regular feeding every 12 hours, and when they were taking a full regular feeding, they would advance their feedings until they were taking all eight feedings on their own.
They were in the hospital for 2 1/2 weeks and came home on the day they were scheduled to be born, October 13. It was really hard having them in the hospital and really took a toll on us. I am so grateful that they are home and thriving. They are the sweetest little girls. We are also grateful for wonderful health insurance and wonderful doctors and nurses that gave them such great care. Were still not sure what the Lord was thinking when he decided to send us twins!!!!

One of my favorite things to do all year is go shopping on black friday, Yep I'm one of those insane people that gets up at 2:00 am to go wait at Wal-mart for all those bargains. It's not just the shopping, waiting with other black fridayers, planning out our routes is just as much fun as the shopping. I also get some really great prices and I am a sucker for a great bargain. I'm normally not a huge fan of shopping (except for grocery shopping), but black friday kind of kicks off the Christmas season for me and I love the season just as much as Christmas day itself! This past Sunday we blessed Aubree and Kilee. Sloan did a great job on the blessings and it was such a special day. The girls looked beautiful. Thanks to my parents for the beautiful blessing dresses and to all of our family that attended. I am so thankful for my husband and my three beautiful girls. I never thought in a million years that I would have three girls. For those of you that know me, I really, really wanted a little boy but now I could not imagine not having my 3 beautiful princesses!

Sydnee's preschool class had a costume parade and program for the parents. All the kids looked so cute and did a great job singing! They also had a party in class. When I stepped outside this morning to wait with Sydnee for my mom to pick her up for preschool, I noticed the tree out in front of our house had turned completely red! It looked beautiful!, so of course I had to take a picture and post it. The leaves changing colors are my second favorite thing about fall, the first is of course halloween candy, especially clearance halloween candy after halloween is over. There's just something about snack size candy bars and treats that make them more fun and taste better than the big ones!!!

Sydnee loves to go to "Jump on it" She has been there three times in the past few weeks! She has been such a good big sister to the twins. We try and make sure we make special time just for her. Things get kind of crazy with the twins but she has had Sloan & I to herself for so long, we want to make sure that she feels special.

Here are some pictures of our cute twiners! They look exactly alike except Kilee is about a pound smaller than Aubree, so we can tell by their size who's who, but just to be safe Aubree wears a purple bow and Kilee wears a pink one!

OUR TWINCESSES HAVE ARRIVED!!!!!

Our beautiful babies are finally here! Aubree was born at 12:38 am weighing 5lbs. 15 oz. and Kilee was born 2 minutes after her sister at 12:40 am weighing 4lbs. 14 oz. They were both 17 inches long. Unfortunately, they couldn't come home from the hospital with me. They are very healthy and doing well, but they weren't eating enough on their own so they have feeding tubes. Hopefully they will be able to come home in a few days. They were born on Thursday September 25 at 35 weeks 3 days.

My wonderful hubby Sloan is such a great guy! He doesn't look at my blog very often ( it's more of a hobby for me than him) but I wanted to tell him how awesome he is. He is such a hard worker. He's working 2 jobs right now and when he gets home, he comes home to cranky ole' pregnant me. He is such a great dad to Sydnee and will be to all three of our girls. On his days off he always makes sure he spends time with Sydnee and I, even though it would be easier to just catch up on sleep or do something for himself. Here are a few things that I love about him and why I am lucky to have him:
*He is a better cleaner than I am
*He is a great dad
*He is frugal and thrifty (I am the spendy one)
*He wants the best for our children
*He tries really hard to do what's right
*He can grow a beard in the blink of an eye. I love his facial hair and all his hairyness (weird, I know)

This is kind of hard to see, but here is a picture of my 33 week pregnant belly. I am HUGE! I can't wait until these twins are here! It will be nice to be able to walk normal again. I am scheduled for a c-section in roughly 4 weeks if they don't come sooner, but the doctor thinks they will come sooner than that because I have had high blood pressure, of course, knowing my luck I will carry them straight on through! Our sweet little Sydnee has had to learn to be pretty independent since I can't do much.

In the meantime, I am going to attempt to put together a tiger costume for Sydnee for halloween. She started out wanting to be a tiger, then went to a mermaid and then wanted to be a ghost like her cousin Crew. I think I finally convinced her that I tiger is the best (because it will be the easiest for me!)

On Tuesday, Sydnee started preschool. She has been so excited to go to school and I think she will do really well. It's hard to believe that she is growing up so fast!

This picture is hideous, but my dad thought it would be funny to take a picture of my belly. This is what 30 weeks pregnant with twins looks like.

We have had a lot of stuff going on lately. Last Friday was our 5th wedding anniversary. My parents offered to watch Sydnee so our plan was to go to Chili's to eat and then to a movie. I had an ultrasound appointment that day and unfortunately we had to wait an hour and 20 minutes at the doctors office. By the time we got done, we were starving and just went to dinner and decided to skip the movie. Oh well! Happy Anniversary to us! Love ya Sloaner!

Saturday afternoon, Sloan's mom came to visit from Idaho Falls for Sydnee's Birthday. Her birthday was Monday the 18th, but we celebrated on Sunday the 17th. We ate dinner and had cake and ice cream and presents at my parents house. Sloan's parents were also there along with Jer, Cami and their boys. Sydnee said she wanted a "mermaid" cake with Ariel on it, so that's what we got. She loved it!, especially the the star bracelet and mermaid toy that came on the cake.

Well, I am officially a stay-at-home-mom now (for the time being). I had my last day of work yesterday. I will really miss all the wonderful friends I had at Lexus. I hope to go back sometime in the near future, but for the time being I just need to concentrate on getting these babies here.:) Sloan got a evening job working at Cabelas. I set up a facebook page so hopefully I can connect with some old (and new) friends in my spare time until the babies come.

We found out yesterday that we are having twin girls! we are just happy that they are growing well and doing good in there. Hopefully Sydnee will be a good helper. She is excited to be a big sister. I will post some ultasound pics later :).

I just realized I didn't post anything about the below photos. Last Tuesday morning while I dozed off, Sydnee got a hold of the scissors and proceeded to give herself a haircut (the first picture). The second picture is her new hair after we took her to get it fixed (almost looks worse). Hopefully it will grow back quick!

I'm excited to say this is the first blog for the Thunell family! I'm looking forward to posting pictures of our family and for those of you that don't know yet, we are expecting twins in October, yes, that's right, I said twins. For any of you that can't imagine Sloan or I as the parents of twins, well I agree with ya! I still can't imagine what it will be like to have twins. Holly
